Three Questions for the members

Write a conclusion based on my results

I gathered seven people, five males and two females. Even though my target audience will be male, there will still be some females who might want to purchase the magazine. The age rage is between 20-30 years.

I showed them my practise mock ups of my front cover and contents pages, and asked them for their opinions and to review it. Also telling them and showing a front cover from the magazine esquire that I based it on. Their opinions and views were very conclusive, the front page's fonts were slightly unreadable, not eye catching. The layout needed to be altered. The logo looked unprofessional. They also said that it would be hard and time consuming to find suitable outdoor environments for photoshoots and suggested that i use slightly colour filled backgrounds as Esquire mostly use them for magazine covers. For my contents page they said it looked good but there were many blank spots, the page needed to have more images, to much writing was on it and it needed to be more appealing, the model present was a good example of what to have on a front page but as its a mock up the quality was bad, they also suggested that I don't need to just have a male as a model on my front covers I could have a female, they also said that the model looking towards the audience was also a good technique as it gives mode of address for the audience.

With this criticism in mind I tend to use solid backgrounds when I'm taking pictures of models for my front cover, find suitable font which could appear on a magazine, edit my logo and make it more appealing and professional, add more images to my contents pages, fill in most of the page as possible and make both my front cover and contents pages more appealing to consumers and consider if I should have a female model for one of my front covers.
